QIDI Vida Smart Glasses Featured in the 2024 Desafío China by La Vuelta – Beijing
At the end of May, QIDI Vida Smart Glasses featured in the 2024 Desafío China by La Vuelta – Beijing, serving as the only official provider of smart sports glasses.
The 2024 Desafío China by La Vuelta – Beijing has emerged as a prestigious C-class international event with substantial global impact. The competition, held from May 24th to the 26th, attracted nearly 2,600 participants from 28 countries and regions across the world.
As the sole officially designated smart glasses for this competition, QIDI invited 2,500 cycling enthusiasts to test the QIDI Vida engineering prototype. Five legendary cyclists, Anna van de Breggen, Alejandro Valverde, Óscar Freire, Nicholas Roche, and Lisa Brennauer, all tried it on and were impressed by the QIDI Vida’s exceptional “AR+AI” performance.

Anna van der Breggen is a Dutch former professional road bicycle racer, who became Olympic, European, Dutch, and double world champion on the road, and was also a World, European, and double Dutch champion in the individual time trial. Alejandro Valverde is a Spanish cyclist, who achieved 133 professional victories during his road racing career. Some of his biggest wins include the Vuelta a España in 2009, the Critérium du Dauphiné in 2008 and 2009, the Volta a Catalunya in 2009, 2017 and 2018, Liège-Bastogne-Liège in 2006, 2008, 2015 and 2017, La Flèche Wallonne in 2006, 2014, 2015, 2016 and 2017, the Clásica de San Sebastián in 2008 and 2014, and the road race at the 2018 World Championships. Nicholas Roche is an Irish professional cyclist, who took twelve victories during his professional road racing career, including four titles at the Irish National Cycling Championships – two each in the road race and the time trial – and stage victories at the Vuelta a España in 2013 and 2015. Lisa Brennauer is a German former racing cyclist. On the track, she won the gold medal at the 2020 Summer Olympics in the women’s team pursuit, setting a new world record. On the road, Brennauer formed part of three consecutive team time trial world championship victories between 2013 and 2015, and also won world titles in the individual time trial in 2014, and the mixed team relay in 2021. On the first day of the race, a sudden downpour occurred, with temperatures peaking at only 15 degrees Celsius and northerly winds reaching around Force 4.
“QIDI Vida Smart Glasses provide me with accurate navigation and health monitoring even in challenging conditions, enhancing my real-time interactions with the race through ‘AR+AI’, which significantly improves the overall experience,” said Chinese triathlon athlete Jingshuang Feng after the race.
“I am deeply impressed by the QIDI Vida’s stable and reliable performance,” Jingshuang added.

On the second day of the race, despite the sunny weather, strong winds persisted.
QIDI’s Founder & CEO, Mike, along with 20 QIDI members, wore the QIDI Vida throughout the 95.5-kilometer group race , which featured a total elevation gain of 730 meters to persoanally test its functions in person.

The 2024 Desafío China by La Vuelta – Beijing concluded successfully. QIDI will keep refining its products and pushing the boundaries of technological innovation to bring cyclists a safer and smarter riding experience. As the official prize for the team time trial champions of the competition, QIDI Vida Smart Glasses will accompany more cycling enthusiasts to embrace their riding adventures in the future.
